Sir Richard Branson in partnership with the Consumer Electronics Show will be hosting the Extreme Tech Challenge finals on Feb 2nd at 2 PM PST. This is the world’s largest tech startup competition and it is down to three finalists.

The top three contenders are invited to Richard Branson’s Necker Island and get the opportunity to pitch their startup to Richard Branson himself.
Hard work in the mornings and fun in the afternoons and evenings summarizes a day on the island. The idea of the event is to shine a light on startups working on a variety of projects. The goal being to find the one company that can have a major impact and sustainability.
The idea behind XTC is to find talented entrepreneurs from anywhere around the world that are both outstanding and have a purpose. High visibility and a lot of resources are available to the winners.
Beginning with 2000 applicants that are whittled down to the top 25 semi-finalists. The semi-finalists are celebrated at a party in San Francisco in September. Then the top 10 finalists go to Las Vegas CES in January. Next, the top 3 go to Necker Island where they get the opportunity to pitch directly to Richard Branson. We are left with one winner.
