Facebook Videos

Facebook has recently come up with a new feature recently that lets you watch your videos from the newsfeed on your TV. These videos might be those from your friends, or from your favorite Facebook pages. For example, videos of delicious meals being cooked or videos from the latest political news from different parts of the world. This is what Facebook has to say about this new feature:

“To give you even more, ways to watch, we’re excited to roll out the ability to stream videos from Facebook to your TV — through devices like Apple TV or Google Chromecast — so you have the option to enjoy your favorite videos on a bigger screen. You can already stream Facebook videos to Apple TV (and other AirPlay-enabled devices) or Chromecast (and other Google Cast–enabled devices) from an iOS device or your web browser, and soon you’ll be able to cast from Android devices to Chromecast as well.”

This means that now you can sit back and relax while watching these videos. This feature would definitely help Facebook generate more revenue from videos and people would be getting the best possible experience, instead of just looking at these videos on their smartphones or laptops.

Simple User-Friendly Process

The process is also very simple and user-friendly. All you need to do is find a video in the feed on your smartphone or your laptop and look for a TV button on the right side. That will get you to pick a device through which you want to stream your video. You won’t have to worry about having to pause your newsfeed while the video plays on your big screen. You are welcome to scroll the newsfeed and the video won’t stop playing.

Competitors

Other competitors like Youtube and Periscope already have made it possible to watch videos on your television screens. Facebook has made sure that it doesn’t get left behind and has now made the same feature possible for its users. It would also add a feature in which the user can pick a sequence of videos to be played next. Facebook started testing this for Android in May and iOS in August.

If you’re in the mood to stream a Facebook Live video to your TV, you can see real-time reactions and comments from your friends and family on the screen. You can join in the conversation yourself by commenting back or by simply reacting.

The aim of Facebook is to become a part of the lives of its users. This feature would help them use it not only through their smartphones but also through their television screens.
