CES (Consumer Electronics Show) is a major event here in Las Vegas.  CES 2016 will be held at the Las Vegas Convention center and other locations on or near The Strip from January 6th – 9th.  We will be attending and reporting on just about anything that relates to Apple products and technology.  The Exhibitor list is shaping up nicely and we will be stopping by many booths to bring you the latest news on the latest products and technology.  The following categories hold some interesting developments.

CEA (Consumer Electronics Association) reports a 77% increase in the VIrtural Reality & Gaming marketplace this year. More than 40 exhibitors will showcase their immersive virtual reality systems and environments, and gaming hardware, software, and accessories. Oculus VR, Virtuix, and Sphero are just a few of the companies exhibiting at CES 2016.

In a recent press release CEA says, “Developments in virtual and augmented reality have made significant strides to allow us to engage in a 360-degree gaming experience, explore the inside of foreign landmarks, treat phobias, better train medical professionals, virtually attend an event and much more,” said Karen Chupka senior vice president of corporate business strategy and CES, CEA. “The Gaming & Virtual Reality Marketplace at CES 2016 will showcase all of these immersive innovations that are advancing this futuristic industry.”

According to CEA research, virtual reality headsets are expected to sell many units 2016. Projected sales are estimated to increase by 500% over 2015, that’s 1.2 million units sold. Total revenue is expected to reach $540 million.

Virtual Reality at CES 2016

CES will launch an Augmented Reality Marketplace this year which will cover a minimum of 3,000 square feet of exhibit space. New, disruptive technologies that can change how we learn and experience the world will be showcased. ASRC Federal for NASA, Marxent and Occipital and others will feature the latest in augmented reality technology.   This will include headsets, structure sensors, software and more.

The Gaming & Virtual Reality and the Augmented Reality Marketplaces will be located at CES Tech East, in South Hall 2 of the Las Vegas Convention and World Trade Center. We hope to see you there.
