Skylake Mac Notebooks in 2016

Skylake

With the advent of the new and improved Skylake processors by Intel, new life will be breathed into the Macbooks we’ve come to know. Along with Skylake, we will also see the launch of Thunderbolt-3 chips with USB-C connector. These two are said to be the successors of the Broadwell line of chips by Intel. Skylake is expected to enhance CPU speeds by a whopping 10-20 percent and the running of integrated graphics chips by 16 to 41 percent. This upgrade comes with thirty percent greater power savings due to a more efficient architecture.

Information from suppliers has indicated that the new line boosted by Skylake may see an inconsistent release pattern. According to the information provided by sources close to Apple’s manufacturing partners, the 13 and 12-inch notebooks may be on the production line sometime in March or April. The 15-inch Macbook Pro will be seen later in the year. If this is the case then Apple’s smaller notebooks could be ready for unveiling during the rumored event to be held in March.   The March event is also rumored to give the first glance at new tech such as the iPad Air 3 and the much-awaited 4-inch successor to the iPhone 5s.

The worldwide developers conference is another possibility which might be held in mid-June. However the 15-inch iteration might miss the worldwide developers conference as it is slated for release sometime between July and September. They may give the official announcement in June and delay shipping to later in the year. It was the same last year when the 15-inch model was seen on store shelves two months after its smaller cousins. The announcement for 2016’s 15-inch Notebook was made earlier this week. Knowing this, there seems to be no reason for Apple to delay the release of its notebooks but they may be planning to emulate last year’s release cycle. The aim may be to give their devices a longer product life.  It seems that the entire Macbook line will be seeing an overhaul. The chips for the Macbook Air have also been released. Reports also claim that a new iMac may be released later in the year.
