Samsung Galaxy Note 8 and iPhone X

The iPhone X is the biggest iPhone ever and this places it against its biggest competitor, the Samsung Galaxy Note 8. Both of these phones are powerful and expensive with many high-end features that you might want to get on your phone. However, in many other ways, the phones have differences that might be too visible to help a buyer choose between either. If you are in the market for a powerful phone and these are part of your options, you might want to get a perfect comparison between them to help you make a good decision. Here is how to best choose between the iPhone X and Galaxy Note 8.

The design

One of the things you might look into to help you choose one of the two phones is the design. The Note 8 and iPhone X offer several similarities as well as differences. Both come with glass on the back and a metal frame. However, the Note 8 includes light bezels and its display is curved into the corners on the sides, which makes it sleek. On the other hand, the iPhone X for the first time in the iPhone history will feature an all-screen design that leaves only tiny bezels. Apple got rid of the home button to create additional space for the all-screen design, and this makes the phone look and feel futuristic. Their dimensions, of course, are different with the iPhone X measuring 143 x 70.9 x 7.7 mm while the Note 8 measures 162.5 x 74.8 x 8.6, which means it’s larger among the two.

The most obvious element of iPhone X is the screen because it covers almost its entire front. Apple ditched the home button to create more room for the screen. The Note 8 is also good on display considerations as it features an almost all screen but with more bezels. The 5.8-inch display of the iPhone X is a Super Retina OLED display that offers a pixel density of 458 pixels per inch. On the other hand, the Galaxy Note 8 features a 6.3-inch OLED screen with 1,440 x 2,960 pixels achieving 521 pixels per inch, which is slightly above that of the iPhone X. That means Samsung offers a larger display that is sharper that allows for vibrant colors and superior contrast.

OS and power

Neither of the two phones is deficient of power as their operating systems are good. The iPhone X runs on the A11 Bionic chipset, which is a six-core processor that performs 30 percent better than the A10 used on the iPhone 7. The Note 8, on the other hand, runs on an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset, which is an exceedingly powerful choice. The phone also has a 6GB RAM in contrast to the 3GB RAM available on the iPhone X. This might sound like things will work in favor of the Note, but according to results the new six-core processor from Apple has an amazing score when it comes to performance.

One more important factor that you will consider while choosing between the iPhone X and Note 8 is the camera. Note 8 can achieve sports OIS and optical zoom. It also takes perfect photos in low light conditions, unlike the iPhone X. With f/1.7 and f/2.4 on the rear cameras, the phone is able to take in more light through the wide-angle lens. Both cameras are 12 MP. The front camera of the iPhone is 7 MP with f/2.2 aperture, which delivers an impressive score when doing selfies. The phone also comes with several sensors that are meant to aid in the face recognition system.
