Another Day, Another Rumor
It hasn’t been much time since we last heard what Apple has to offer in its smartphone sector. And now there are new rumors regarding the upcoming iPhone, iPhone 8.
All Glass Back For iPhone 8
Nikkei Asian Review claims that Apple will move towards all glass back with their next iPhone. The phones will have glass faces, glass backs, and a metal frame to hold it all together. The last time Apple used an all glass back was with the iPhone 4 and the iPhone 4s. Many users believe that a glass back on the phone complemented the whole chassis perfectly. As for the metal frame, MacRumors speculates, it will be either stainless steel or aluminum. However, until now we have only seen Aluminium backs up till the latest iteration; the latest iPhone.
Apple to Introduce 5-inch Models
Moreover, the report also claims that it will introduce 5- inch models.
“Apple has tentatively decided that all the 5.5-inch, 5-inch and 4.7-inch models will have glass backs, departing from metal casings adopted by current iPhones, and Biel and Lens are likely to be providing all the glass backs for the new iPhones next year.”
Previously only offering 5.5-inch and 4.7-inch options, the Cupertino-based company is adamant on increasing its arsenal.
iPhone 8 Will Feature AMOLED Screen
Nikkei Asian Review also stated that the 5.5-inch iPhone 8 model will have a curved display and an AMOLED screen. Apparently, the other two variants will stick to the good old LCD displays. Furthermore, the news site Yuanta Investment consulting ‘s analyst Vincent Chen wrote in a note on October 20th that the iPhone 8 will also feature wireless charging.
