Pyramid: A Part of History and the Future

Let’s take an example of a hexagonal pyramid, It consists of six sides, so, n will be six, the edges that will be seen will be twelve and the vertices of the hexagonal pyramid will be seven.

Let’s discuss the location of the centroid of the pyramid. It is located on that line segment of the pyramid that joins the apex of the pyramid to the centroid of the base of the triangle.

The surface area of the pyramid is equal to the summation of the area of the base of the pyramid and half of the multiplication of the perimeter of the base and slant height of the pyramid.

To be more precise,

The surface area of the pyramid = B+½(PL)

Where p is the perimeter of the base.

B is the area of the base.

L is the length of slant height of the pyramid.

where l is the square root of summation of square of height and square of inradius of the pyramid.

The volume of the pyramid is equal to one-third of the multiplication of base and height. To be more precise, it is equal to ⅓ *b*h where b and h are the base and height of the pyramid respectively.

There are two more sub-parts of a pyramid in which it can be categorized as like

  1. Regular pyramid
  2. Irregular pyramid

A pyramid whose base is a regular shape like a square, the hexagon can be categorized as the regular pyramid whereas the pyramid whose base sides are of unequal measure and whose angles are not of equal measure is considered as an irregular pyramid.
