We will be giving you a handy trick through which you could easily delete an unwanted picture or video without disrupting the entire conversation. By using this trick you can delete the image or video from your phone, however, the image remains on the recipient’s device.

You can use this trick to delete more than one picture or video from the Messages app. All you need to do is follow the steps below. Before we go any further let us remind you that once you have deleted a media file from the Messages app on your iOS you won’t be able to undo it, so only do it if you are sure you want to remove the media file permanently from your device.

How to delete pictures and videos from the Messages app

Step1: Open the Messages App on your iOS device.

Step 2: Open the conversation from which you want to delete the unwanted media file.

Step 3: In the conversation find the image or video you want to delete.

Step 4: Now, tap and hold on the media file.

Step 5: A pop-up menu will appear over the media file you selected, now tap the “more” option from this menu.

Step 6: Now, tap on the “trash” icon if you are sure you want to delete the media file.

Step 7: Confirm that you want to delete the picture/video by selecting the “Delete message” option. However, to make sure that you have selected only the video or picture and not the entire conversation take a look at the blue bookmark next to your image or video.

After following these steps you will have successfully deleted the video or message from your conversation.
