Heard about AirPods 2 yet? For those who want to get their hands on them, it’s important to do your research first. Here’s everything you need to know!

The Apple AirPods 2 wireless headphones hit stores in early 2019 and quickly became one of Apple’s most popular products. But if you currently own a pair of AirPods 1 headphones, you may be curious to know if it’s worth the money to upgrade to the new model.

So are the Apple AirPods 2 headphones worth the price? And what makes them different than the AirPods 1? If you’re asking yourself these kinds of questions, wonder no longer because we’re here to help!

In this article, we’ll breakdown the AirPods 2, as well as tell you about the improvements Apple made with the newest model.

Now then, let’s get started!

They Connect Faster

You truly can’t beat the flexibility that a wireless device gives you. And whether it’s your Bluetooth speaker or these AirPods 2 headphones, once you go wireless, you’re never going to want to use a wired product again.

But one of the biggest drawbacks to dealing with wireless products is that, oftentimes, they can be quite difficult to connect to. And if you can’t get them to connect to your device, or stay connected, they’re essentially useless, which of course isn’t a good thing.

The good news? The AirPods 2 headphones connect faster to your favorite devices than most wireless products you’ll find on the market today. And they do a much better job of staying connected, too, which is a huge plus.

They’re More Efficient

Perhaps the biggest addition to the AirPods 2 headphones, and what separates them from the previous model, is the new chip found inside.

While the AirPods 1 model’s W1 chip was good at the time, as wireless technology has advanced, it’s become a bit outdated. But the H1 chip that the AirPods 2 model is using is as good as it gets right now, and thus, the headphones work better as a result.

The biggest benefit to this new H1 chip? You now get up to five hours of battery life when listening to music. That, combined with the connectivity improvements, makes the upgrade decision a no-brainer.

They Have an Improved Talk Time

Did you know that the leading cause of automobile accidents is distracted driving? And perhaps the biggest distraction we have in our cars with us every day is our cellphones. Thankfully, hands-free devices, like wireless headphones, exist and make talking while driving a much safer thing to do.

Again, when it comes to wireless headphones, you can’t beat this logistics solution. Simply put, the built-in microphone found in these headphones has completely changed the way we use mobile devices, and for the better.

This is especially true when we’re on the road, where one bad decision can completely change our lives and the lives of others around us.

But with the AirPods 1 model and other wireless headphone options, the talk time per charge was a bit of an issue. In fact, you only had around 2 hours to talk per charge, which combined with listening to music, drained your battery fast.

Well, the good news is that AirPods 2 headphones have an improved talk time of 50%. That means you get an additional hour to chat on the phone per charge, for a total of three hours now, which is a nice and notable improvement.

They Have Hands-Free Siri Capability

Since its debut in 2011, Apple’s “Hey Siri” personal assistant technology has become a huge part of our everyday lives. And having the ability to speak a command, or ask a question, and then have an AI bot respond accordingly is pretty cool, to say the least.

The AirPods 1 headphones let us use that technology without touching our phones, which again, was a great feature. With that being said, we still had to touch the headphones themselves, which wasn’t a huge deal, but not as good as just being able to utter a command.

It’s no surprise but that problem is a thing of the past now with the AirPods 2 model headphones on the market. You can now speak a command, without having to touch the headphones themselves, which is really convenient when you’re on the road.

The Wireless Charging Case Option

Last but not least, it’s important to note that the AirPods 2 headphones come with two case options.

Of course, you can purchase them with a standard case, like the one the AirPods 1 headphones came with. But you can also purchase them with a wireless charging case, which is pretty awesome, especially if you travel a lot.

You will have to pay a few extra bucks to get the wireless case option, but again, it’s great for traveling. And if you order from Apple’s website, they’ll even engrave the case for free, which is a great way to personalize them, especially if they’re a gift for someone.

Breaking Down the Apple AirPods 2 Wireless Headphones

Well, there you have it, a breakdown of the Apple AirPods 2 headphones, as well as why they’re superior to the previous model. Now you can take that information and decide if making the upgrade is worth it to you or not!

As you can see, the H1 chip is the biggest and most notable change. And with that new chip comes better battery life, as well as connectivity improvements, both of which are huge pluses.

And, of course, having a wireless headphone option is great for traveling. This is especially true if you’re talking on the phone while driving, which isn’t safe unless you have a hands-free option like wireless headphones.
