We have come across new Pgyer links to download GBA4iOS 2.1 for iOS 8.1.1 without jailbreaking. We have tested the GameBoy Advance Emulator on our own iOS device running 8.1.1.
Note: We have come across another way to install GBA4iOS 2.1 on iOS 8.1.2. Check it out if this method isn’t working for you.
We have previously covered GameBoy Advance and GameBoy Color emulator GBA4iOS twice. Once a dedicated post on how to install it on iOS 8, then on how to install GBA4iOS 2.1 on iOS 8.1 after Apple patched the date-time exploit these third-party apps used. Since then, Apple has released iOS 8.1.1 which apparently requires different builds of GBA4iOS 2.1 to work correctly. This post covers how to play GameBoy Advance / Color games with GBA4iOS 2.1 on iOS 8.1.1 without jailbreaking.
The procedure is fairly simple if you have installed third-party apps from outside the App Store before. You open Safari, go to a specific website, and just press a button to download and install. It’s only very slightly different here, as GBA4iOS on iOS 8.1.1 appears to be protected by a password for some reason. Thankfully, we know the password, so it is not going to be an issue for our readers.
- Launch Safari
- Go to pgyer.com/GBA32
- Enter the password ‘agothro’
This is the password as of publishing this article. The owners of the website may change it!
- Tap on the green ‘Install’ button
- A dialogue box will confirm if you want to download GBA4iOS 2.1 from pgyer.
That’s it. GBA4iOS 2.1 (Build 5) should now install on your home-screen just like any other app. We have confirmed this to be working on our iPhone 4S on iOS 8.1.1. It may or may not work for you, as we have experienced ourselves on different devices, and heard from readers. We just do not know why it works on certain devices, and not on others.
We will not discuss how to download GBA4iOS ROMs as downloading ROMs is illegal. However, if you are willing to take the risk, just search for them on Google. They aren’t at all difficult to find.
We will update this post in case the password mentioned in Step 3, or the link in Step 2 changes.
