Creative AI In Music Video
Advances in AI have been coming at us in leaps and bounds lately. Even in unlikely areas like music video production. Director Timothy Saccenti and Intel utilized AI technology to produce a visually rich music video for Chinese pop star Chris Lee. The music and video are titled “Rainy Day, But We Are Together”. The special effects added by the producers are dramatic and visually rich. A machine learning AI system tracked the artist’s face in real-time. Then it reconstructed her face in 3D with raindrops and more. Connecting stars in the night sky and applying them to the artist’s face is another visual effect used in the video. It is really fascinating to watch.

Dig Down
Another interesting application of AI in a music video showcases a song from the British band Muse. A creative technology company Branger-Briz put this video together using AI. In this case, almost the entire video was generated using AI. Countless, short video clips of TV personalities, politicians, people in the news and more are streamed down from the internet. Basically, the personalities in the video clips speak the individual words in the lyrics to the music. The song is titled, “Dig Down”. What’s fascinating about this is that the video clips change daily. The lyrics stay the same but the AI downloads different clips of people speaking them. So basically the AI constantly searches the net for videos containing the individual words to the song. It replaces the clips making this seem more like performance art. The use of subtitles makes it easy to follow along.
