CES Auto Show
I was not surprised to learn that the CES Auto Show is considered to be one of the 10 best in the world. At the last two exhibitions I attended in 2016 and 2017 it was apparent that high tech is rapidly making its way into our personal vehicles. The forward look we get at CES would indicate this trend will continue well into the future. We’ve come a long way since the days when advancements in our vehicles meant new state-of-the-art sound or entertainment systems. Today’s cars are smart, really smart and tomorrow’s vehicles are on track to be even smarter.
Vehicle tech will be a major attraction at the CES 2018 Auto Show as it has been in previous years. This is where there will be ride-and-drive experiences and self-driving cars. There will also be aftermarket enhancements, connected capabilities and lots of demonstrations of smart mobility.
At the Auto Show, you are surrounded by the top automakers showing off their prototypes and concept vehicles. You really get a sense that you are driving into the future. The goals of many of the major car manufacturers are to make the occupants of their vehicles safer and better connected. In many ways, they have already delivered on these promises.
The Las Vegas Convention Center North Plaza is where you’ll find the Self-Driving Tech Marketplace at CES. This is where you can explore the driverless cars through ride-and-drive experiences. Here you can test drive and experience a variety of technologies that support the future of self-driving cars. Technologies like park assist, collision avoidance, emergency braking and much more.
Some of the self-driving technology companies in attendance are:
- Arbe Robotics
- Arvato Distribution GmbH
- Clarion Corporation of America
- IAV Automotive Engineering
- Renesas Electronics America, Inc.
- Torc Robotics, Inc.
- TRW Automotive Electronics & Components
- ZF Friedrichshafen AG
