The one thing Apple has been consistent on is being Eco-Friendly. And Apple has made sure its consumers know Apple’s stance. From Ads to its online campaigns, Apple has been very efficient in making sure that it has some space for their stance on Environment Protection.
Apple’s Statement on Environment Preservation
“We take the same innovative approach to the environment that we do with our products. We’re creating new solar energy projects to reduce our carbon footprint. Switching to greener materials to create safer products and manufacturing processes. Protecting working forests and making sure they are managed sustainably. We’re even creating a more mindful way to recycle devices using robots.”
Moreover, other organizations have made sure it doesn’t go unnoticed. For the third year in a row, Greenpeace has declared the Cupertino-based company the most environmentally friendly major tech company because of their commendable efforts.
According to Greenpeace’s Report
“Apple played a catalytic role within its IT supply chain, pushing other IT data center and cloud operators who help deliver pieces of Apple’s corner of the internet to follow their lead in powering their operations with renewable energy.”
In 2015 alone, 93 % of the energy used by the tech giant came from renewable sources. Also, from China to Singapore, Apple is using Solar Panels to power it’s production facilities. They have also gone to lengths to minimize their water and wood footprints.
Additionally, the company’s renew program has also helped them to achieve their target. As it allows consumers to recycle any iPhone at the nearest Apple store.
The energy footprint of the IT sector is currently estimated to account for 7% of global electricity. However, experts believe it’s bound to increase. As global internet traffic is expected to rise threefold by 2020, so tech companies having long-term sustainability plans is more important than ever.
