Apple iPhone 7 Event

The much anticipated Apple event to unveil the Apple iPhone 7 is just days away.  Apple has reserved its usual venue for such announcements. The Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco, California. September 7th at 10 AM is the start time for the event.

Apple iPhone 7

Apple iPhone 7 will finally be introduced to enthusiasts and the press.  Likely other products will be discussed as well.  It’s pretty much a given that the iPhone 7 will be minus the 3.5 mm audio jack.  The community expects that Apple’s new iPhone will be equipped with Bluetooth earbuds. Specific details are not available so I guess we will have to wait.

It is interesting to note however that Bragi a German developer of audio assistants and earbuds are entering into a secret deal with Apple.  That announcement should come on Monday, September 5th in Cupertino.  The new iPhone 7 will have a faster processor and advances in the cameras with improved low light performance and color fidelity. The iPhone 7 Plus is expected to have a dual camera.  The Home button as we’ve known it is rumored to change as well. It will no longer be mechanical.  A 16 gig option should be a thing of the past with speculation that the lowest capacity will be 32 gigs.

Apple Watch 2

Apple Watch 2 and watchOS 3 have been on the table. A cellular model was reported by the Wall Street Journal to be in the wings. But in light of problems reported by Bloomberg related to cellular chips draining battery life, cellular connectivity may have to wait for version 3 of the Apple Watch. Regardless it would make sense that a new model would become available in time for the holidays. So we expect an announcement of Apple Watch 2 at the September 7th event. The list of new features to expect are faster processing, GPS tracking, improved water resistance, a barometer, and all the software improvements in watchOS 3.

Macbook Pro

A new Macbook Pro has been through the rumor mill for some time now. An OLED touch panel that will replace the function keys is reported to be on the new model.  What we know for sure is that we don’t know if Apple will be announcing a new Macbook at the September 7th event.

iOS 10 and watchOS 3

We can probably count on learning more about iOS 10 and watchOS 3 as well. We will be watching the Event and passing on what we learn to you here.
