Social Media

Social Media has revolutionized how we communicate with each other.  It has also allowed companies to market their goods and services to us in new ways. Social media entertains us with videos, photo filters, effects and more. Just when you think you’ve seen all social media has to offer, along comes Animoji Karaoke.

iPhone X

The iPhone X with its 3D face scanning technology makes it possible to utilize Animojis for this new craze, Animoji Karaoke. The 3D avatars in iPhone X allow you to step into their persona and utilize your facial expressions on their faces.

Singing along with your favorite tracks while you are in your Fox, Chicken, Pig or other personas seems to be taking off.

Harry McCracken on is taking credit for this new phenomena. Harry says,

“As I used a pre-release iPhone X this week, it suddenly occurred to me that it might be fun to lip-sync a song to an Animoji and have it mimic my performance. I dubbed the idea “Animoji Karaoke” and have been filling my Twitter feed with it. Judging from my likes, retweets, and comments, I haven’t just been entertaining myself; some people said that it redeemed Animoji or justifed buying a thousand-dollar phone. Even cynics have taken notice of my breakthrough.”

I don’t know about this feature alone being justification for dropping a $1000 or more for the new iPhone X but it sure helps in the decision process based on the fun factor alone.

I suppose Apple is benefitting greatly from the free marketing this new craze is providing to the company. It really showcases a feature of the new iPhone X that has received mixed opinions from hilarious to creepy.

There are examples of Animoji Karaoke all over YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook. Here are a couple of our favorites.
