As our parents are touching their old age, we are also moving out of the house and starting our own lives. Some kids are going to college, while some are getting their private apartments. Though our parents are happy about us getting independent, the empty house can sometimes be very haunting.
This can often lead to an irrational fear of abandonment. Our parents may start to worry that we might abandon them, and not take care of them. In most cases, this fear is irrational; sometimes, paranoia isn’t the only thing to blame.
Sometimes, we can get so caught up in our lives that we do end up neglecting our parents. Therefore, no matter how busy you are, you can always take out a couple of minutes every day to call your parents and ask about their health.
