Good news folks, we’ve come across a working download link for GBA4iOS 2.1 emulator on devices running iOS 8.1.2. Although GBA4iOS does basically require jailbreaking, this method will allow you to run the popular GBA emulator without needlessly jailbreaking your device.
We’ve already covered how to install the emulator without jailbreaking for iOS 8.1.1, however we received some mixed feedback regarding its success, with reports that isn’t working at all now ever since the date-trick became void for iOS versions above 8.0.2.
We’re pleased to report however that this new link seems to be working for majority of the people out there. Yes, that means you don’t have to stay away from Pokemon for much longer!
After following the steps below, you should be able to play your favorite GameBoy Advance / Color games on your updated iOS device. However, if this method doesn’t seem to work for you or the app keeps crashing you can still try the old link, but only if you’re running iOS 8.0.2 or below.
Whether you’ve installed third-party apps from outside the App Store before or not, installing using this working download link for GBA4iOS 2.1 method should be a cinch. All you have to do is open Safari, enter the link we give you, click on the install button and voila! Success.
So getting started:
- Launch Safari from your device.
- Go to www.iemulators.com.
- Click on Apps tab on the navigation bar at the top, then click on GBA4iOS 2.1
- When the popup appears, click Install. Confirm the install if any prompts appear asking for your permission.
Yes that really is all there is to it. We’ve tried it and it works for us, as is the case for most of the people who’ve tried it. Hopefully it will continue to work, at least until Apple finds out about it and decides to revoke its certificate. If that happens, you may have to go for another, more permanent fix. Until then, enjoy the GBA4iOS 2.1 without going through the hassle of jailbreaking your device!
We can’t tell you how to download GBA4iOS ROMs as downloading ROMs is illegal. However for those of you who like to live on the edge, you can search for them on Google. Chances are you’ll be able to find them easily. We’ll be sure to write more if this fix isn’t applicable any more or if a new one comes out, so keep visiting for updates!
